Project: MLB Texas Rangers Sponsorship

Role: Creative Director (creative strategy, concept and graphic design)

Assignment: During the 2011 MLB season, Capital One Bank signed a deal to sponsor the Texas Rangers. My team was engaged to bring two sweepstakes to life to support the sponsorship.

Phase 1 was a sweepstakes directed at children. Any adult could go to a bank branch and nominate a child to win a day with Rangers star Josh Hamilton.

Phase 2 was a sweepstakes directed at fans - giving a lucky fan a chance for an ultimate Rangers game day experience. Phase 2 was supported with a home loans product message.

In-Branch Display & Sweepstakes Entry Point

In-Branch Display & Sweepstakes Entry Point

The branch display and entry point was designed to be a reusable die cut box that could be leveraged for multiple campaigns across the bank's footprint. It was designed to be placed on a check-writing stand or other table height piece of furniture in the branch.

Buckslips were distributed at the branch drive-thru lanes, at Rangers games and at little league games across North Texas. These were set up with variable field information so every branch in North Texas received a supply that was custom to their branch.

Buckslips were distributed at the branch drive-thru lanes and at Rangers games. The back of the buckslip featured a product offer on a home equity loan or line of credit.

Branch Door Cling

Hand Fan Giveaway

The branch door cling was designed to span both contests and show the bank's support of the Texas Rangers. Additionally, by not linking it to a specific sweepstakes, the cling could remain up for the entire season and postseason.

What's a great way to beat the heat at Rangers ballpark? Hand Fans. To help drive traffic to branches and to push the sweepstakes, we developed hand fans that were given out at select Rangers games.
